Resumes in Orlando, Florida (FL)

Orlando FL is just down the road from Tampa, where HireMaker is based, and HireMaker has lots of experience in the Orlando market.  For this, HireMaker's resume service actively works with people from Orlando and surrounding areas.

To clarify, though, although HireMaker has chosen to mention some cities as "most well known" to us for our resume service, we can definitely help you, no matter where you live. The first step is sending in your resume and letting us take a look at it through our resume assessment and One Free Tip program.

HireMaker Resume Service Job-getting tip number 91:

Honesty plus Resourcefulness: It doesn't matter who you are, you will be asked some questions that you don't know the answer to.  Or if you know something that you don't know. If you've done something you haven't done.  If you've accomplished something that you haven't.

The answer will surprise you: Simple honesty is always the best answer.  Begin with a straight and direct "No" or "I haven't done" or "I don't know", but what you do next is how you can still differentiate yourself.

Example: "Have you sold a million dollar deal?" (and you haven't):

Bad answers:

  • "Nope."
  • "Well, I had a terrible territory and my sales manager didn't like me and the other salespeople had bigger computer screens and better headsets than me and blahhh blahhhh blahhhhh, it's not my fault, it's somebody else's fault, everything is somebody else's fault and I'm going to blame them for it."

Good answers:

  • "No, not yet.  I've increased my sales the past 3 years in a row though, and I've dedicated myself to getting there!".
Why this is good: First of all, because in this example, we're assuming the person is being honest.  You can't and shouldn't lie and make things up, but this answer has shown ambition, growth potential, dedication, and honesty.
  • "No.  I've been in the top 20 percent of my office this year."
