Having spent some time recruiting and assisting folks in Chicago IL, HireMaker resume service developed a familiarity and affection for the area. In other words, we've decided to spend a little extra time and attention on Chicago with our resumes.
To clarify, though, although HireMaker has chosen to mention some cities as "most well known" to us for our resume service, we can definitely help you, no matter where you live. The first step is sending in your resume and letting us take a look at it through our resume assessment and One Free Tip program.
Here are the other cities that HireMaker resumes focuses on. We'll definitely still help you with a great resume no matter where you are, though.
Customize everything for yourself and your personality: Interpret all advice you read, including this advice in your own way. Keep in mind, lots of the advice you read (especially HireMaker's) is good and sound advice, but it doesn't mean you're not allowed to think about it, reflect on it, and customize it to fit yourself.
True story: the "Last word repeater": One of the strangest moments in my recruiting live (this is HireMaker's principal talking) was the "Last Word Repeater". No, this isn't a Seinfeld episode, it's a true story:
Ok, you get the point: Here's a person who probably read an article on "Active Listening", that says now and then, to paraphrase what the person just said, to show that you're listening. Except this person took some advice that was basically good advice, and totally over-used and mis-used it.
So to repeat: Whenever you see a piece of advice, think about it. Analyze it. Keep in mind that if it's from a good source, there's probably a lot of merit to it, but still, in the end, you have to decide how to implement it and how far to take the advice. You're a smart person, so use that good judgment!
